Yorba Linda’s neighborhoods, parks, open spaces, trails and shopping define our very special way of life. Yorba Canyon is committed to protecting the Yorba Linda we love and preserving our future by upgrading neighborhood shopping, helping reduce out of town traffic and improve the industrial and high density areas of our city away from our traditional neighborhoods. As the City and its Resident Housing Group have already found, the largely miles long industrial area where Yorba Canyon is located, near the southeastern city border, is ideal for a garden-style residential community that updates shopping, restaurants and provides local businesses and residents the first update to this industrial area of Yorba Linda for local residents in a generation.

Over the last decade, we have helped provide thousands with the opportunity to succeed, create timeless memories, while enjoying great meals and neighborhood shopping in the midst of the decades old industrial section of Yorba Linda in the far east portion of our town.
By updating this small, single part of the eastern edge of the city, our neighbors and residents will be able to enjoy a top notch garden style community with walkable shops and dining that echoes the traditional architecture of our community while providing the updated spaces today’s retail and consumers want from Yorba Linda’s businesses.

How will our shopping improve?
Yorba Canyon will improve decades old shopping areas along the south and eastern edge of Yorba Linda with brand new shops and restaurants in a garden style community environment.

How will the amount of out-of-town traffic decrease during commutes?
Currently the offerings in this part of our town attract employees and commuters from all over Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties. By improving and upgrading the location with high quality local shopping and dining and a garden style community already certified appropriate for the site by the City, we will insure that traffic from this location to the 91 corridor, Weir and Gypsum interchanges are minimized.

What is the impact on surrounding neighborhoods?
The nearest neighbors to the property are the rail line to the north, industrial, trucking and manufacturing businesses to the immediate east, the Santa Ana River and 91 freeway corridor to the south, and high density condominium communities to the west.

What’s Next For Yorba Canyon?
On February 1, 2022, the City Council unanimously adopted a citywide housing plan which found that housing was ideal for the Yorba Canyon area as part of the city’s ‘2021-2029 housing element’. Here are the mentions for the property in that city housing plan that was certified by the State of California in 2022.
This year, the Resident Housing Group for the city again confirmed that Yorba Canyon is ideal for suburban style housing. To insure that these plans which protect traditional single family neighborhoods while allowing for the long standing retail and restaurants to be upgraded, the largest group of voters in recent city history (over 6,000!) signed petitions to put the plan on the November 5, 2024 ballot.
The Yorba Canyon Community plan for the community is less dense that which was planned for by the City in its 2021-2029 housing element in order to insure that retail and restaurant space can be upgraded in a garden style environment using the Spanish Mission style that is so special to Yorba Linda.
